Newbie here so please be gentle!
Heading for Brisbane with wife and 2 young kids (4 & 2.5) in late Jan next year following a validation trip earlier this year. Having major hassle selling current house but it will go eventually - hopefully!
A question for you.
Have read much about the 'bayside breezes' etc.. which sound appealing. How far inland can you get before the wind effect starts dropping off and it gets noticable hotter?
Alternatively, do you get the same 'cooling' effect off the river (although looking at the websites the house prices maybe out of our range for the Bulimba et al suburbs)
Thanks

Not far I would think, ANyway its probably only about two or three degrees difference. I live in western burbs which are normally hotter, and depsite a max of almost 43C last summer find nothing to complain about. If you've got a pool and some air con you'll be all right.

I do recall that Ipswich did get temps up about 10°C higher than Victoria Point during that last really hot spell. And during the winter they reached freezing point a few times, while we were at about 6 or 7°C.
But Ipswich is a fair bit inland.
Just looked at the weather charts on www.bom.gov.au and saw that Ipswich Max temp in Dec/Jan was 44.6°C compared to my area in the Redlands having a Highest Max Temp of 37.5°C
