Brisbane, south of the river?
We're moving to Brisbane area and husband has job offer south of the river, (Acacia Ridge) so need recommendations for suburbs south or west of the river (not in flood zone)? We need to move down from Gladstone in next couple of weeks and am frantically trying to find us somewhere to rent with good schools! Any help appreciated......

Acacia Ridge is quite easy to access from a lot of the South and West. I can recommend Chelmer/Graceville/Sherwood/Corinda - which some might say is in the flood zone (some areas were badly damaged in 2011) but we were mostly untouched this time round.
All have access to good primary schools and great transport links.
Use the flood zone maps at www.brisbane.qld.gov.au - they give street names and even numbers that may flood in a catastrophic flood.
Just my suggestion - I'm sure others will be along shortly.
