Brisbane To Perth??
Hi Folks,
We currently live in Brisbane and i have been offered a position in Perth with my current employer,we are totally undecided as we know nowt about Perth?
We would not know where to start? which are the more pleasant suburbs etc? whats the weather like? best schools? we really don't have a clue so any advice would be most appreciated, is Joondalup a nice area?
Cheers

Suburbs vary hugely in terms of price, so your budget is going to have a big bearing on where your able to live. If you can give an idea we can suggest some places.
Personally I cant stand Joondalup and the suburbs around it,
In all regards West is best

the only thing you need to know is that it is so much nicer than Brisbane

I should think you could rent in most burbs for that amount. But the question is whether you could afford to buy there afterwards.

Our own house here has just been put on the market & it will give us a tidy sum to deposit when we buy again

Oh i dont know, everythings just up in the air at the mo!probably because we know nothing about Perth
One minute we're thinking well what have we got to lose, next we're back in the comfort zone, having spent 3yrs in Brissy.
We decided to put our house on the market initially to find something bigger here, then hubby was offered the job in Perth,so we have over the xmas hols to make the decission
We're moving regardless,it just whether we plunge ourselves into the unknown & start all over again

Re: Brisbane To Perth??
This has got the makings of a classic Brisbane v Perth thread....
I've never been to Perth. From what I've read about the place, I'd like to spend a week or so there and see what all the hype is about...From what I've read, its a pretty boring place, but there's some nice beaches.
If I was being offered enough money though...I'd move anywhere !!

Just had a thought. Did they offer Malc the job to get rid of him and dump him as far away as poss, or do they think he's too good for Bris and want him to pull Perth up to Brissie's standards

We moved to Perth from Brissie in 1990............. and have never looked back. Much prefer Perth to Brissie and there was absolutely nowt at all wrong with Brissie.
Where is the job based?
