Yes, I don't think 22 is cool either :)

I always smile when I see an air conditioning temperature debate, because it reminds me of a particular time at work. One of the outstations had an all-female staff, and you wouldn't believe the bloody strife over the air conditioning. All professional people, but bicker bicker bicker over this.

One older lady kept turning the central control up to 24 because she was cold. A couple of middle-aged ones with hot flushes would get more red in the face and turn it down to 17. The young ones would turn it off and open all the doors.

I got so pissed off at the lot of them that I called in our air conditioning contractor and got his advice on the 'optimum temperature' for the building (22). Called all the staff together, told them I was their manager not their mother, and that the first person to turn the air con up or down from 22 would be in my office to explain.

They settled down after that, but what a palaver. A cardi for the cold ones and a desk fan for the warm ones, something that was suggested at the beginning.

If a freezer can go below 16 why can't an aircon?

This thread is a hoot!

How you going now RR, must say its starting to feel like summer, although the nights do get a bit warmer and the humidity around Jan/Feb can be a bit oppressive if you work in a suit. Right now its lovely but the part when you said "it can't get any hotter" made me

Cos a freezer is a small seeled box, your living room is a large un-seeled box.

lol.

I was once told by my mother that women had more fat so that they could survive a life-boat scenario.

Well the women in the offices I have worked in have not put that fat to their advantage - invariably they feel the cold.

I reckon 20-22 is good enough.

It also makes me laugh when people have heaters under their desk - I actually reckon this is quite expensive and people need to sort it out with their line mgr - really...but they won't of course (etc).

Is there a contest going on that dictates each state must come up with the most stupid meaningless, number plate to force on its citizens.

I like the american plates, more a picture background, which captures the beauty or unique feature of that state.
