Default Bringing White Goods from your home country.

Lot of post indicates that the cost of white goods is too high in Australia.

I am staying in UAE where the cost of white good is the least in the world. Now if I am bringing the white goods my expences are divied as

1. Shipping cost to Oz. - I will find out from UAE.

2. Customs - Do we have to pay customs on the used goods to be transported to Oz. For new what criteria applies?? How strict is customs to bring

Laptop / Digital Camera / Vid. Camera / Mobiles as passenger baggage.

3. For Inland Transport any taxes are applicable??

4. Generally how much is the shippling cost from Sydney to Melbourne for transporting a small container.

Please help

Rash

If the goods are less than 12 months old they will be liable to tax (thats the way I understand it).
