Brighton Meet up details

Hello Folks,
Its all getting scary now, house sold, business sold, dog rehomed, and now have just placed our car in Auto Trader, its all slipping away, 6 weeks and counting, sounds like there will be a few of us going through the same things, will everyone else have a look of sheer panic on their faces, mixed in with a large dose of excitement!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to the meet up.

I'm definitely gonna be there. Having just found out that my bond money has been requested, and that a visa is imminent, I've come over all funny. Where last week I was chomping at the bit to go, now its become a reality it feels so overwhelming!! All of a sudden so many decisions to make.... wonder if I'm nuts in wanting to leave everything familiar and safe and head off to the other side of the planet, all on my own. :scared:

Hi everyone going to the Brighton meet, we went to the last one and had a really good time, putting faces to the names off british expats, we only had about 13 days before we left for oz, so we were really on a high, it was good to have a talk with others going through the same emotions.
We have been in Oz about 4 months, and enjoying it,

Yes remember you from the last one - and weren't we all envious cos you were just about to leave! Do I recall correctly that you hadn't been to Oz before? Very good to hear that you're still enjoying it! Think this meet should be as rowdy as the last one! We'll raise our glasses to you - hope things continue to go well.

Im sure the meet will be as rowdy as the last one, no problem spotting each other thats for sure,

last time LynnW organised it.
We were all wondering how we would recognise each other.
I got there early and sat in my car watching out for other likely punters. Went in, did a discrete surveillance from the bar. Did a few discrete circuits of the floor. No luck. No likely punters.
Returned to bar just in time to hear a woman say to a bloke "well I did say about 7.40pm..."
Pollyanna was standing to my right and we all fell over trying to say "oh are you from Expats??""
So all the expats were all at the bar looking shifty in the end.

You were so proud of it that night, little did I know I would get mine a few weeks after.
You will easily recognise me just look for the Barbour jacket and Green Wellies. I might have my two Collies with me as well.

Badger was expressing surprise that you needed the directions when you found it OK last time - then an hour after I'd answered him, he went and completely altered his post!!
If he's gonna start doing that, I'lhave to start playing the old "cut and paste" game more often!
Told the boss today that I'm having Sunday afternoon off to go to the pub - he said, "aren't you supposed to ask, and wait till I say its OK, you can go?" I pointed out I will then have 4 days left at work so whats he going to do, sack me..........exit one boss, looking sheepish, rest of office in fits! Its those little victories that make it all worth while!
