Default bricklaying what will i earn

I am coming over from UK to do bricklaying. How much will i earn, anyone know? Is there work all over OZ, or only in certain areas. Does anyone know of any jobs going or can you offer me a job.

Thanks

Whereabouts are you planning on going?
Theres a thread in the update forum - 2mths and 2 weeks in - covers the topic of brickies and difficulties - not wanting to put a dampner on things - but definately something you need to consider. good luck xx

On wages $260 - $280 a day. Recent postings by people actually working in aus (perth qld etc) would back that up.

The price per brick is the subcontactors rate, minus all overheads leaving a far less glam rate per brick.

Building industry is slowing, interst rates are around 9.3%, it has already affected housing starts.

Despite this the gov is way behind the eight ball as usual and has again declared there is a shortage of bricklayers and carpenters and intend to bring thousands more in. I doubt many in the industry would agree.

But do a search on bricklaying, all sorts of threads will come up and you will get a wide variety of responses from people in different areas.

It doesn't seem like that's the case for everyone.

This may be a worthwhile read for the OP:
