That's very helpful. I've already opened an account with Halewoods and we're just waiting to be asked to lodge the money. I didn't realise that I could lodge it in any state, though. Do the interest rates vary from state to state, then?

Yes, there might be a quarter of one per cent difference ... there was at the last time of looking anyway, which over the year is at least four slabs of beer, even after tax!

The rates vary. When we did ours WA was the highest and NSW the lowest.
