Default Blanks to Fill?

Can anyone help?

My work (Australia based) is offering me a job to actually work on rotation in New Zealand. They say I can stay in Aus and they will set up a 457 visa?

If I am working in NZ and staying in Aus can I still get Aus citizenship if I am over there long enough?

Would my children be entitled to education in the Aus system.

Brisbane is the place that appeals to the other half, so I guess we would be staying around there?

I have tried looking on a lot of websites but I just cannot seem to track down the information that I am searching for, so please if anyone can help, you could make a pensive family very happy.

Look forward to getting some replies.
Thanks in advance and fingers crossed

Any time spent in NZ could not be counted towards Australian citizenship. And you couldn't count all of your time on a temporary visa either. Have a look at www.citizenship.gov.au for more info. Also have a look at the thread 457 Visa Restrictions for some of the pitfalls and things to be careful of on that visa. If your employers are prepared to sponsor you, why not see if they will sponsor you for ENS or RSMS, which is a permanent residency visa.

That thread will also answer your questions on schooling.

And in general, take a look at the Australia & New Zealand Immigration forum for specific answers. You may find someboady on there has already answered your questions.

Good luck!
