Default Bio Sculpture/Shellac

I'm hoping there is someone out there who can help or point me in the right direction.

I am considering doing a course in the Uk shortly for Bio Sculpture Nails (this is where the men stop reading i guess!) and possibly Shellac nails.

I am undecided what course to do, but having been on forums relating to these in the Uk, it has been suggested that i check that any qualifications, training etc i receive here will be valid in WA.

I know in the EU there are next to no standards, whereas in various States in the US you have to have a licence, but i cant seem to find out much re the rules and regs in Oz (WA).

Anyone throw any light please?
Thanks in advance.

The salon where I get my biosculpture done has just started doing Shellac too. Not too many places in Perth do either, they do like their acrylics there for some unknown reason.

In Cairns the market seems to be under assualt by Professionails. They are cropping up everywhere.

Requirements seem to be young Chinese on dodgy visas who speak no English.

Must be cheap I guess.

mmmmm i wonder why? Are Gel pretty popular too or just the acrylics?

The bio course requires a course in gel first, but seems acrylics are a totally different entity altogether

You've got to do your homework, especially before you cough up cold hard cash to do a course.

Yeah its hard sitting on the sofa in blighty trying to think what to do for the best! Wanted to do something that would get me out and about and meet people so thought that was quite a good idea!

Coming for 3 weeks for reccie in Oct so will try and gain a bit info then and see first hand the "competition" Tho was going to do the initial manicure training etc this month, with a view to doing bio once we return in November.

We are probably not going to make the move permanently until next aug/sep/oct so thought it would give me plenty of time here to get up to speed as it were!

Originally thought about permaenent make up but the outlay is huge and then insurance, set up etc, plus you wont get repeat custom for 2- 5 years !

The salon where I go there is only 1 lady who does bio. I have tried other salons but the technicians I had were rubbish. The lady who does mine is always busy. You see nail bars in the shopping centres putting on set after set of acrylics, not sure the biosculpture has taken off massively here yet.

Would you mind me asking, what you pay for a set of Bio?

Hopefully by the time we there it would of caught on .... but not too much!

Thanks Northernbird, one of my concerns was that they would not last as long as they do here with the heat etc, but i assume you have no problems?

No problems at all. No different to my nails in the UK.
