They were happy to let me go because i had to pay the penalty fee, but i got loads of calls from them when i also took my home phone line from them. Give the little guy a go!
I was in contract with a Bigpond wireless connection when I was travelling (they were the only provider that cam close to offering the kind of coverage I needed). So when I 'settled down' and wanted a proper DSL connection, it was either Bigpond or pay about $250 to get out of the wireless contract. As it happens I'm not unhappy with what I get from them on the whole. It's fast and reliable enough for me and I have a package that gives me enough download most of the time.

They have a basic internet package with BigPond and im pretty sure between the four of us we will use it easy plus more
Any idea how much the extra usage is likely to cost them when they get back so we can budget for it now?????!!!!!

Thanks................

Forget Bigpond,

For $69.95 with TPG (http://www.tpg.com.au/), you can get ADSL2+ 150Gb/Month - 40GB peak & 110Gb off peak (1am - 7 am). Ideal for bittorrent etc. (Hint - if you use Utorrent, you can set download times etc, probably can with other clients too). Price is capped - if you use your quota you are shaped, not charged extra. Also this is the download quota - no upload quota, Bigpond also include the upload portion in their prices which is a ripoff.

There are other options available obviously, have a look at http://www.whirlpool.net.au/ - best place to look for Aus ISP comparisons.

I'm with Bigpond at the moment but am churning at the end of the month.

Obviously, you need to be on a compatible exchange for your provider.
