We should be moving to Perth in approx. 3 weeks. Boyfriend will be fine as will join a local football team and I was wandering the best ways to meet others - I am hoping for outdoors sporty clubs such as tennis etc - for beginners (although 27!) - part of plan is to get fit and healthy!! Any suggestions welcomed, think we will be in the Subiaco, Wembley ish area...
Thanks in advance, Joanna

Hi Joanna.
We too are looking at Subiaco, West Leederville and Wembley. We are looking for maximum employment opportunities for my husband who is a chef.
Although we are still waiting on our visa and you will be long settled by the time we come out (would love to be there Oct/Nov).
I would be interested in hearing how you settle and your opinions of the area you move to though.
Good luck

Must admit, my husband is nervous about not getting a job. I suppose that is normal.
It would be nice if you could let me know how you get on. I like West Leederville because it has a great number of restaurants etc and its central.
We will be renting a property as well.
Five weeks, I bet you are nervous!

Nervous but excited,Sam.For some strange reason we are relatively calm.I suppose the fact that i have a sister there helps but we still have alot of sorting out here to do.But we take one day at a time and just get on with things. We did a car boot sale yesterday. It helped pay towards my girly night out last night(ouch). We have someone coming to look at buying my car today and will get rid of the other one at the last minute. As i said Carls isn't too worried about finding work but he is looking forward to having a good choice. He spent 14 years in last job,too long for a chef.So all we have to do now is pack, say more goodbyes, say farewell to the goldfish and off we go.I'm sure in the next few weeks panic will set in but so far so good..xx Sandra
