Best suburbs for familys near sydney?
Hi,
Doing a reckie to Oz in November (emigrating March) and wanted to know if anyone can recommend places to live with small children within easy access of Sydney.
Don't want to live in the city but would like to be within an hour and would also like to be close to water (sea or river!).
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
TOB

Re: Best suburbs for familys near sydney?
Hi,
We will be renting for 6 months then probably buying. Looking for somewhere which has good rail links to city. Hubby is not sure whether he will actually be working in the city but wants to bear it in mind. We currently live on the outskirts of a small market town but have lived in villages too so would like something sort of similar which is good for kids.
Thanks TOB

Killara, Gordon and Roseville are nice suburbs on the train line and probably about 20 mins from beach and 20 mins by train into the city. These are north shore places - someone else would have to tell you about the many other areas in the south.
We live in the forest area/Northern beaches which is child friendly but not good for public transport. No trains here - just buses.

Thanks for that.
We will most definitely give them a look when we are over in November. I must admit we have been looking more at the northern beach areas than anywhere else. We started off with Gosford aread but I think the transport isn't particulary good. It such a dilema until hubby gets a job as we haven't a clue where he will be based. Still we will only be renting at first so can probaly move after 6 months.
thanks again,
TOB
