we are thinking of relocating to mermaid waters on the gold coast.
can anyone tell me what its like to live there.ie work sport restaurents cafes etc etc

I lived in Mermaid Waters 1989-1992, but I suspect its changed a lot since then. Nice area, particularly if you're canal front but a few K's from central surfers and the beach.

The waters bit in the suburb name may serve as a warning. Before renting or buying check the Gold Coast Council flood maps which are available on line before committing to a particular property. As in Brisbane it is always a question of when rather than if in certain areas.
