Best place to find out about Sea dangers?

Best place to find out about Sea dangers?

When we went to Oz we kept seeing things about rips, breaks etc.
As the sea looks more dangerous there where can we find out about this, sharks, what to do with jellyfish stings etc?

Anyone at your local surf club will fill you in on all of this. They'll tell you all about rips and currents (both local and general), tell you about the dangers from marine wildlife and advise you on safe places to enjoy the beach.

Having just finished my first year on patrol with my local surf lifesaving club I think this advice should be given to all recently arrived immigrants.
