Good luck, hope you enjoy Bris when you get here.

They have a great pizza place on the University of Queensland campus at St Lucia, it's pretty casual and BYO, outdoor seating but fab pizza.

Nowwhere to be seen now we've been back(and I don't think in 2000 either), I was very bummed, as I was looking forward to taking Pascal to one!
Funny pizza place story(and it happened in Brisbane). I decided to sprinkle some stuff that looked like herbs on my pizza. What was it: dried chilli flakes/seeds!!! OMG, I nearly died! We never ate hot stuff back then, not even curry(I'm dutch).

There are much gentler introductions available you know ! I guess the words
' a light sparse sprinkle' now resonate deeply within your psyche
For the uninitiated, chili flakes are a dehydrated concentrated source of chili: Always use with care!

:scared:
That same holiday(2 months to Oz in 2000), had a thai green curry at a friends house. That nearly killed me too, don't think I even finished it! But that still wasn't as bad as the flakes! We eat thai curries all the time now.
Argh, getting hopelessly off topic, sorry!

I'll second the Tomato Brothers recommendation, yum! Their calzone is great.
As for Pizza Hut, they have had sit down restaurants in Brisbane since the late 1970's, first time I had ever tasted pizza was when I was about 15 & my friends & I went to Pizza Hut at Indooropilly just after I started my first part time job. So they have been around for a long long time 30+ years, but as NickyC mentioned they have closed them all down in the last 2 or 3 years in favour of takeaway/home delivery only stores.
Spalen, can't give you any karma, but it was worth it .
