Talking Best options for temporary accommodation in Brisbane upon arrival

Hi
good day
My wife and I are going to move to Brisbane in feb 2012. We are planning to stay in temporary accommodation for 2 weeks until we find a suitable rental flat.
What are the best economy options?
1- hostels?
2- hotels?
3- home stay?
please share your experience and let me know if you know any suitable accommodation
Regards
Reza

My husband rented a furnished room in a converted house for 2 months in Highgate Hill prior to the kids and I arriving and it worked out really well for him. Then we rented a furnished house for the 5 of us once we arrived.

Hire or buy a car, nip to BigW or KMart and buy a tent and equipment. Stay on the coast for a couple of weeks

I would hazard a guess that a hostel would be cheaper than a hotel. Not really come across "home stay". Certainly possible to get a long term rental in two weeks, but things will need to go your way, I would budget for a little longer in the temporary accommodation, say four weeks.

Do you know any Hostel in Brisbane with reasonable rate ?
I have checked some of them but they seem a little bit expensive,
I am looking for something around 60AUD PN.

$60 per night will be really hard to find.

We stayed at Taringa Gardens for two weeks at $125 per night. It was basic but comfortable.

Maybe holiday rentals from $450 per week (season dependent) like this:
