Default Best mobile phone deal in Oz

Does anyone know what the best/cheapest deal is on mobile phones. I am currently with Virgin in the UK on a pay as you go rate and its great, very cheap and doesn't exspire.

Does this sort of deal exist in Oz as I only spend around £20 per quarter.

Depends where you are, what you need, etc... If you're in one of the metro areas I think 3's service is hard to beat... It's a low monthly rental, free 20 minute calls between 3 mobile numbers and a data package that's miles better than anyone else, 500MB for $20, up to 2GB for $40...

As far as PAYG is concerned I think $30 a month seems about the norm but it does expire after 30 days if you don't keep topping it up...

Well... It would be no good for anything in the way of meaningful downloads, but excellent if you want push email, mobile document management, take and send pictures back to the office, etc...

For fixed line broadband check out Whirlpool for the best site for info in that regard...

yes unfortunately they limit your PAYG and all credit will expire after 30 days, there are a handful of small operators who still do it with no expiry.

I'm with vodafone pay as you go. Once your on, speak to the vodafone operator and ask them to change your plan to the one that doesn't expire for 365 days...easy as that. !

Sounds like Virgin is the way to go then, I am currently with Virgin in the UK and I am extremely happy with the running costs and the coverage so I think it will be Vrigin again.
