Default best currency exchange place?

hi all - there has been loads of info about the best places to use when transfering large amounts of money, but what about small amounts?

we wanna have a small amount of cash when we arrive & will use a card for most things so we are only talking about a few hundred $$

we used travelex last time as they seem to have the best rate
anyone else know of any others??

thanks

I found forex brilliant. search for their website. i would tell you it but i've had a glass of wine. i've sent several amounts to my sister to pay the bond. when i first set up my account someone phoned me from oz to ask if i had anty queries! they also send emails telling you the daily rate and giving advice about changes. its very easy, cheap and good rates. good luck

we too use travelex for cash but Lloyds TSB usually have by far the best rate on travelleres cheques. You can usually order then online too to pick up at your local branch.
