Being a bit 'towy'

I'd been here a while before I heard this one.

Any takers on what it exactly means? I think I know, just wondered what others thought.

That would certainly work. I thought it was a bit more some sort of 'attitude'.

Do I get a prize for starting a thread on something original and hitherto not discussed? :p

The one I'm not sure about is "cactus". I don't know if it means knackered or in bother. I also can't figure out if it's rhyming slang or not.

I don't think I've heard towy before.

I thought it was short for Toe Rag ie she is a bit towy - poor, unkempt, slovenly, common ;)

"catcus" can mean both of these.
"towy" I've always understood it to mean irritable or testy.
However, as in UK, words can mean different things in different places - as I have found to my acute embarassment!:)

Irritable/testy sounds a good fit.

In the lawnmower context, it could mean that it accelerates very quickly. Think I've heard it used in that way in regard to cars and motorbikes.
