Real Ale types won't like the beer here. VB, Tooheys, Carlton and XXXX are very bland and fizzy but always served refreshlingly cold.
There is hope in the name of James Squire. It is very nice ale that suits the weather but sadly it is not everywhere yet.

I also love Scotch and Gin (girls drink really). Perfect on their own or in-between pints.
BTW pf , I found that you can get most of the European lagers in Aus but a bit pricey I thought.
