bank accounts
We expect to be in Oz within the next 8 weeks. How easy is it to get bank accounts, mortgages, credit cards etc?

Do not know a lot but we asked our bank, the HSBC, and they said setting up an OZ account was no trouble but would need about 6 weeks notice.
Others I hope will answer you more fully based on their actual experiences.

i am opening an account with the commonwealth bank. very easy to do. not sure it is the best, but wanted something up and running before we go.
HSBC wanted $2000 to open an account. we don't have that much money
