Default Bank account on reccie

Evening all
Im off on my holiday/reccie trip at the end of the week and seems it may be possible to open a bank account when i am there? I didnt think this was possible with no permanent address. can anyone shine any light on it for me please

I wouldn't bother. Nearlly all banks charge a $5 per month account fee which will add up.
It's so easy to do it when you arrive for good, I'd do it then

Westpac and Commonwealth allow you to open accounts in the UK before you get here. If you go to their websites and search on migrant banking. I believe you can keep your UK funds in them until the time comes to move over and all the transfers will be done for you. Either that or chance going into a branch and explaining your circumstances. They may waive fees until you live here, don't ask don't get.

I asked and didn't get :-((
I see no point in having an account here before you arrive apart from if you are transferring funds before you get here.

I'm with ANZ and they are OK, you can open the account on their website but you do need to print out some stuff and send it to Australia

We asked and did get with ANZ so every case and indeed branch may be different.
