Ok. Bought a number of australian rules footballs to take back to the UK for Christmas presents and a friend has just said you can't take them on the 'plane inflated. Was planning on taking them inside hand luggage. But will I be refused and have to spend half an hour in the check-in queue jumping up and down on the buggers to get the air out.?

I would have thought it would be easier to deflate them (as long as you do it in advance) - it'll certainly take up less space?

We tried to take an American football back through Canada and they deflated it at the airport. Hubbie was none too impressed as we did not have a pump at home.
