we have never ever been to oz but going off what other people have told us this is an ok place to live work rent etc etc??

Granted ........it has million dollar mansions by the lakeside...............but it also has more than it's fair share of homeswest (council houses) properties too. It's very close to an industrial area at Malaga; and aesthetically it has dirty great big overhanging power lines which make it difficult to on sell properties in same vicinity.
I'm sure the people who live in Ballajura are very happy there............. the people I have sold houses to in Ballajura certainly are............ but on a personal note i myself would not like to live there.
It's horses for courses................... don't want to put you off if you have set your mind n that area?

What Bobcat says. Look, nowhere in Perth is anywhere near the Moss Side's of the the UK but by reputation it is one of the worse suburbs in Perth. But if money is tight, and it doesn't go anywhere near as far as it did 2-3 years ago, you could be alright there.

It's still very much a buyer's market and there are many bargains to be had in some very nice areas.

Around $70k deposit we think as we will be comeing over with around $110k and getting car etc etc and maybe renting for a few months
we will be earning aorund $40k between us again ish i think....
