Question Baggage Allowance for Migrating on Spouse Visa

My hubbie and I are immigrating to Wollongong/Illawarra region at the end of April - flying out to Sydney on the 29th. We have just sold our house and are setting all the cogs in motion. Dave was able to get a permanent spouse visa through myself - due to me being an eligible New Zealander.
Does anyone know if we will have any trouble with the extended baggage allowance Singapore Airlines give to migrating passengers, if only Dave has the Spouse Visa in his passport. Will they only allow him the 40kg. . We have sent an email to Singapore Airlines today to confirm that we have the extra allowance, but it just dawned on me, that I don't have a visa (as such) in my passport. All these things to worry about!
