Default Bad hair days......

At the risk of being told off for moaning, I just wanted to warn all of you heading for Brisbane that theres no such thing as a good hair day here!
The humidity, wind and storms ensure that you always have a mophead and its often too hot to bother sitting under a hairdryer doing anything about it!

My own got so bad this weekend that I resorted to chopping it all off with the kitchen scissors..... anyone know a good hairdresser in these parts????

Yippee!! A drinking buddy and a hairdresser rolled into one! Could be some interesting hairstyles.....

I agree Michaela, not the best city for nice hair - but I've always looked like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards, according to my mum, so it doesn't worry me! I'm also a great hat-lover, they cover a multitude of sins

Hi
I have that kind of hair that as soon as there is the merest hint of moisture decides to do its own thing (badly at that). I got cheesed off last friday & decided to get some layers put in my long hair) now we have this very wet but close weather & hey presto I look like a bubble on legs!!!!

I tried cutting it shorter but it then it just grows outwards!!!!

At least everyone looks bad!!

good luck

Hiya Michaela,

I have bad hair days wherever I am. Dead straight, very thin and very blonde. Always looks yuck even just after washing it, so I will feel right at home.

A little hi-jack requested please. How is your diet going? After months of not losing anything (again) I have given up and gone on Atkins. No where near as bad for you as I thought, I actually feel better than most diets I have tried. And as a bonus I have lost 6lbs and almost a dress size in 2 weeks.

Best wishes
Sarah

I think you and I have the same hair type there

I agree completely with the humidity thing - even when I go out at night and it looks semi-decent, as soon as I get out of the air con, it'll start sticking to the back of my neck, frizzing up on top (lovely hey!)

I found a decent hairdresser in Chermside (bit far for Wellington Point!) but that took five attempts - she better still be there when I get back

Is it possible to wear a hat until Petra gets here???????probably not

Sarah, diet has been a dirty word round here so no further loss for me, we get our pool next week so serious swimming starts and our kitchen stuff arrived yesterday so there goes my excuse not to cook!! Back to it, we've been here 3 months so holidays over!!! I've done the atkins a couple of times just for 2 weeks for a kick start and have always found it good. Good luck!!

Michaela & the word diet just seem to be at odds with each other.

I can tell you were I get my haircut if you like Michaela, but thats not much help if I fall into the "bad hair-do" category. :scared:

Can't you folks just convince everyone that the Hillary Clinton look is *IN*?

(if I lived in the US now, I swear I'd vote for her because she has the same problems with her hair as I do )

Anya.
