The cost of commuting into London is horrendous - and they even charge (a lot) to park at suburban train stations (at my old local station it's about GBP40 a week). Saying that, there has been massive investment in rail and underground upgrades and this has had a big impact. A lot of the underground upgrade has now been canned due to bankrupt Britain.

Especially as a huge chunk of the London Workforce would have to pay it.
Completely negates the London Weighting allowance in one hit.

I've never been to Bradford, but I've been in Inala town centre twice in the last week and holy moly it ain't pretty, I can pretty much cross off visiting Asia on my list of things to do as a visit to Inala markets is just the same

Look for the Nescafe Gold that says "Packed in Germany". It's about $5 cheaper than the locally packed variety!

Peepster- I did not realise you were in my neck of the woods. We are just up A3 (Worcester Park) and we pay £10 per day to commute. I think SW Trains are charging by the time spent on the train- sort of rent- as our journey rarely takes under 40mins despite the scheduled 25 min journey time.

And you can't drive as the main road has roadworks, blocking one carriageway, which have been in existence since January 2011. The traffic is always at a standstill.

The Coles brand chocolate that is made in Belgium and is cheaper than anything made locally is very nice too.

The other day I bought a WD 3TB portable HD from Officeworks for the cheapest price that I could find anywhere in the world - including the US.

That was also pretty much my old neck of the woods. I don't miss those mind-numbing traffic queues one little bit.

I hear the Chiswick flyover has been closed for maintenance. I bet it's causing a complete nightmare west and south-west of the city.
