Anyone tried this?

http://fooddownunder.com/cgi-bin/recipe.cgi?r=278712

Method :
  • The reason this recipe is for only one serving is that it is almost impossible to find anyone else to eat them with you.
  • First catch your witchetty grubs.
  • 1. Raw: Hold the live grub by the head, lower into the mouth, bite off at the neck and start chewing. Tastes like cream.
  • 2. Cooked: Throw them into the coals of the campfire and lightly roast till the skin is crisp like a sausage skin. Tastes like sweet scrambled eggs.
  • Tip:
If eating them raw, it's important to start chewing straight away because it can be a bit disconcerting to have the grub wriggling inside your mouth for any length of time.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the amount of recipe's. I have been looking for some of the more obscure recipe's I have heard of and so far, they have had them on this site in one form or another.....

I meant that you could have some of those toasted grubs with your pb to add the extra crunch.

The only thing peanut butter is good for is making satay sauce.

I knew what you meant, but chose to ignore it and not give you the satisfaction of making me retch!!!

Here's a golden oldie Pommes Dauphinoise.

Plenty of variations on the general theme of layered sliced potatoes. Add egg to bind. Dissolving a bitey cheese in warmed milk is the key. Add ham, anchovies etc.

Good side dish or as main. Cheap and tasty.

Cheers Hels, this is great...I'm a late developer in the kitchen, but have been enjoying experimenting whilst not working at the mo.
