Avoiding mobile masts
In the UK before I look at a property I used to check there were no mobile masts within a 2 mile radius on http://www.sitefinder.radio.gov.uk/
Does anyone know if there is a similar site for Australia? |

Re: Avoiding mobile masts
Hi Moneypen!!
I wonder if its summet to do with radiation  if you are within 2 miles of it?? Or is it that it interferes with signals like tv and stuff??? And not to mention the fact they are an eyesore!!! But TBH I dont know either !!!!!!! Im sure someone will come soon and help!!!! Cheeky :)

Cheeky!
Sorry just cannot get worked up about them. I use my mobile and would be well hacked off if I couldn't get a signal. More radiation is going in my brain space when using it than looking at a mast and there are so many pigging pylons, street lights, street order signs etc, what's another mast. |
Re: Avoiding mobile masts
There seems to be mobile 'phone masts/electricity pylons etc...... everywhere here, to avoid being within a two mile radius of them I think you would probably have to live in the outback, (they're probably even planning to erect them there as we speak!) I think people here are oblivious to them...
I suppose after a while between the heat/pesticides/alcohol/'phone masts etc... your brain cells cease to function properly anyway, and you don't care where you are living, as long as you're alive!!!! |
Re: Avoiding mobile masts
Just noticed something else about the mobile 'phone masts over here......
There always seems to be at least one placed next to, or near to most of the primary/junior schools......... Has anyone noticed this???? |

I would rather have a few less signal bars if it means reducing my families chances of contracting leukemia/cancer. An effective contraceptive |

An effective contraceptive Definately food for thought. |
Re: Avoiding mobile masts
I am not sticking up for mobile phone masts (and don't work for a company etc etc) but there is no proven link between masts and cancer. Masts and phones broadcast in the non-ionising part of the radio spectrum whilst things like x rays, UV rays etc (the stuff that can give cancer) is in the Ionising part of the spectrum. Moblie phones and masts are located midway between your microwave and your TV in the spectrum and so I am not too worried about them. No one will ever tell you for definate that masts don't harm you but similarly no one will catagorically tell you that your TV is safe to use.
The basis principle is that if you get coverage, you are already being bombarded by emmissions from masts, proximity to one just serves to heighten peoples fears. As an aside I do disagree with the visual impact of the masts. |
