I have never attended one in Australia, but I heard that compared to the UK, they are a lot more casual. Don't know if this is a generalisation, though.

thats what i plan to do, a late wedding then straight on to the reception, just dont know where to start now Im here...... It seems to be a lot more cheaper here, but too much choice, so I am having trouble deciding what to do.........
Freemantle prison seems like a very strange place to have it tho
Hope you have a good time, let me know how it goes.

Hiya, well it goes something like this:
1) Two single people walk up to a near complete-stranger
2) Strangle person mutters some important stuff
3) The two people mutter something profound
4) The third-party sez "hey people, these dudes are, like, hitched man!"
5) The dynamic duo have a snog and everyone gets bladdered.
6) ... ah, well, if we could predict past that then life would be considerably less interesting.
Hope that helps!

A set up is a bit liek how they are in american weddings.
Flower girls and bridesmaids go down the aisle 1st, each of the adult bridesmaids have a groomsman and after the ceremony they go back up the aisle in couples, they get introduced at the reception as couples which is great if the real partner of the groomsman hates the bridesmaid he has been paired with (nearly a girly bitch fight at the last one I went to)
aswell as the boquet throwing they also play a game for the boys, both of the last 2 weddings I went to this game involved the bride being blindfolded and feeling all the single blokes arses choosing the best one who then gets to take her garter off with his teeth (this game was even playing at a posh wedding)
Most girls tend to dress as you would at a british wedding but some of the blokes go as if they are off to work down the mines (I live in the country so this might be why.

Lol, I've played at least a hundred Oz weddings in a string quartet and they've all been posh as
. Never seen any garter removal at any of them either

For all of you who wanted to know how the Australian wedding went here goes..........We arrive 30 mins before to allow plenty of time to get there only to be told we were not allowed in the chapel and had to wait outside in a sort of open air entry area......Saturday night in Perth was bloody freezing, windy and very wet,,,,,,,,luckily some folks had brollies......Eventually were led into the chapel,,,there was no flowers,,,,,,no hyms or music apart from 1 song they played from a tape recorder when the bride entered the room......the lighting was very dingy.......one of the main lights was broke so there was only 1 bulb on...........The bride did look very nice,,,,followed by a chief bridesmaid and a flower girl.......The service took around 10 mins all in all........We were then led onto the reception area,,,,,,,,,i thought this would be a function room with maybe a 2/3 course dinner to follow.........It wasnt........it was held in the corridor next to the cells.......they were not allowed any form of heating as it is a fire hazard,it was freezing........There was around 40 people there, and they had 5 patio tables and chairs for the guests and another 1 for the bride and groom......There was no plates or cutlery, just napkins.....The food was a plate of bread with dips already on the tables, then as the nite wore on they brought out finger food snacks,ie....party pies, mini sliced pizzas,etc.......But had to be quick as the waiters whizzed by us.......They brought there own caterers in.......Not sure if the prison does its own .....The wine and beer was free flowing so i got pretty bladdered and enjoyed the company of people i had never met........There was a disco but the music was ancient......We got the chance to do some photos in the cells, which should be interesting to look back on.......The bride revealed to us her what shoes she was wearing under the frock,,,,,,only can describe them as mens leather workboots for women, she said they were comfy...........All in all we did have a good nite, was very different from what i expected,,,,,,,,but next time i go to a wedding there i would wrap up more and have my tea before i went there.....I think the wedding was on a budget which is fine, was booked very last minute,,,,,,,and at the end of the day they seemed very happy to be married............jan hutchy..........
