Everything in moderation though Kong.
I wonder how
many crimes are commited purely to fund drug addiction?
The world would
be a nicer place if the drug culture were magically taken away.

Or if they were legelized
and controlled by the goverment, instead of international cartels?? The
price of drugs is kept artificially high due to the worldwide (though
mostly US led) war on drugs.

total difference between aboriginal culture and that of the white
Austrlians. I found it very depressing viewing, it seems that the
relationship between the whites and aboriginals mirrors (to a degree)
the Isreal/Palastine situation in the middle east. Obviously without
the extreme violence, such as suicide bombings. Yet who knows what the
future may hold?? There a certainly a lot of angry disenfranchised
young aboriginal men. Total segregation exists on a scale similar to
South Africa in the apartheid years

really are no easy answers. It is so sad to see the cycle of
destruction of the indigenous population thtew crime, drink and drugs.

    > Equally sad was that twat form radio 2UE "shock Jock" saying that he
is pissed off as the whites have been there 200 years, so why have'nt
they (aboriginals) integrated and stopped bludging white Aus taxes.
Well, how many thousands of years had they been there before his
ancesters landed?? Yet in 200 years they should embrace a totally alien
culture and be bloody grateful for it.

possibly think of a solution to it, I think that lady (minister for
indegenous affairs) seemed to be sort of right. As far as no magic wand
can be woven and buckets of money alone will not rectify the wrongs of
the past and guarantee a solution. But she is a politician and part of
Howards government, so it may well be bull.

have any views on the matter???

Hey Kong

I saw the programme
last night and I don't know the answer, it's so hard this one, so am not
even going to attempt to try. May get a better handle on it once out
there.

However I did get some generic points out of it:

3% of the
prison population is Aboriginal yet they make up 40% of the total prison
population. Isn't there some similar stat in the USA about black
prisoners? So what does that tell me? It tells me Aboriginals don't get
the same opportunities as their white brothers so they turn to crime.
Most in the nick for domestic violence, drink and drugs, come in, tea
aint on the table so whack the missus or the kids, but that happens all
over the world and am sure that's not a culture thing, so no sympathies
there from me on that one. That happens where I live I'm sure

Yes that
DJ could have lived in Mississipi, unbalanced and subjective (racist)

TJ's mum, all those kids, no school no hope. If that was this country
those kids would be in the care of the local authority. I've seen kids
removed for less.

20% less life expectanacy, you would have if you live
in squalor and drink and do drugs all day and have poor health services
and drink contaminated water and so on.

Back to prison again. There
were no fathers around to act as role models, if a kid sees his father
in prison he'll want to be there too. It's called learned behaviour and
if there are no education institutions to help break the cycle it will
keep going round and round. A vicious circle.

But this could happen
anywhere in the world if you strip away the race and have a look

I know
I've been a bit general but as I say I don't have the answer. I will
leave it to Ulijan (sorry if that's spelt wrong) he/ she (sorry again)
seems to have a beter handle than most on the forum about the subject.
Have to say thou it has me thinking and will endeavor to have a better
idea soon.

Walla
