Enjoy it while you can, when Conjob gets his filter we might all just as well use dial-up!

It'll be interesting to see if it speeds up again after they go back to school...

And how many mums and dads are blindly buying into telstra, and supporting the dinosaur. Looking at the numbers many are still stuck on 8 mbps lines either by adsl 1 online exchange or denied adsl 2 by the nasty RIMs

Re: Australian Internet Speeds
And i've been quite happy with my 1.5Mb connection... it has done what I need, and seems fast enough...
But seeing the other figures, I may consider upgrading after all.
But... how much will it REALLY save me in time, just on basic web surfing ?
Will 23,000 kb/s compared to my 1,400 really make much difference ?
Web pages appear pretty quick to me, so will I really notice the difference ?
But seeing the other figures, I may consider upgrading after all.

Put your Downstream attenuation (dB) from your modem into this to calculate an estimated max speed.

Errr... Vicky point is an adsl 1 exchange with a max speed of 8mbs.

I'd actually forgotten about Vicky point being only ADSL1.
I did look it up once, but haven't really felt the need for speed enough to think much about it before.
