Actually the Australian dress code I find easy - just get up in the morning and reach for the first thing that comes to hand clotheswise. To be frank - nobody else actually cares what you are wearing unless your in upmarket places. Combing hair is optional as are shoes.

Although we took a trip to Eumundi market today to find a chopping board (dont ask - very exacting specification from the wife and she found it too) and then went onto Noosa for lunch. Three young ladies had taken it upon themselves not to bother dressing at all (sunbathing I should point out) :) Was strangely quite crowded around that part lol.

Of course...being happily married I didnt take a second glance... ;)

:D Saw a girl in trackies, t-shirt and pink fluffy bunny slippers waltzing around the shop the other day. Having been here for a while now I didn't even look twice.

In a scene in Solomon's Song by Bryce Courtenay an Aussie is in London during the war and is wishing to buy an engagement ring at Simpson's the jewellers (by Royal Appointment). The doorman hints that he shouldn't really go in there because he might be embarrassed. The reply was something like 'I'm an Australian mate, I don't get embarrassed easily'. :D

Pj's and slippers, no worries! :D

I come from Dublin (live in manchester now) and it is very common in the inner city of Dublin to see girls out in their PJ's. you can even see some in the pubs at night. I think it's a damn fine idea, go for a few  and you can stay for an extra few cause your already ready for bed :)

Cairns has a sheepskin shop that sells Ugg boots!

Very useful up there in NQ for those cold winter nights when you get snowed in! LOL

 That must be where they make the sheepskin car seat covers and sheepskin stearing wheel covers that seem so popular here :D

The sheepskin seat and steering wheel covers are not there to keep the seats/steering wheels warm - or to make a fashion statement.

They're to stop your skin frying when you get into the car on a hot day. Essential in most places during the summer - and even more so in FNQ.

I have not seen it here, but useds to people out in their jamas in Liverpool all the time

This is one of the things i really love about Australia. If i've run out of milk i dont have to make an effort to
"look the part" just to pop down the shop. Several times i have gone down there barefoot.. i love it!! Although i have to admit i am barefoot at every opportunity as i hate shoes! The fact that streets and malls are far cleaner and well kept in these parts makes it much easier. No chance of treading on broken glass and such like.

I love the fact that people are far less judgemental of other peoples appearance. Far more acceptance than in Britain. If i saw someone out in their jimjams i'd find it very amusing and more power to them i say!

When i lived in London i often felt i had to wear my make up to go out (not to the shops mind you) It took me a fair while to get used ot the fact that wearing make up is a bit of a nightmare out here in the summer. Within half an hour it slides off your face. But i find my skin is a lot more healthy and better looking anyway, for not doing it so much. Eau natrelle is the way to go and far less hassle. :D
