Australia vs Canada

I have just recently acquired PR visas for Australia and Canada. I am thinking realy hard where to go. Is there anybody who have been to both countries? At the moment Australia is a preferred choice of mine. My current plan is to go Canada, get all things done (PR status, SIN etc) then move to Australia and live there. If don't like it I will go back to Canada. All these movements would cost me a lot though. The number of posts on Autralian part of this forum 5 times as many as it is on Canadian one. Why is that? Is Australia so better to live and fewer people are willing to go to Canada? Here are pros and cons I found:
Australia - warm, sunny climate, less competition in IT job market i.e. easier to find a job, more girls per 1000 men according to statistics
(I am single)
Canada - more job opportunities, closer to civilization i.e. easier to travel, diverse climate, there is no spiders and snakes

Sorry, mate, but if you are worried about all these movements costing you a lot, maybe you should've thought of that first......

Agree with the comment about wasting visas.Maybe better to stay where you are until you can decide what to do, then you could contribute better to the country you finally decide upon.

completely agree with the TWO visa scenario, i'm sure we'll agree that ONE each would be scorchio!!
but here's a thought, firstly -she's a bit of smart pants, having got all options covered; set the picture!
'do i like Australia, do i not, do i like canada, do i not, well, i think i like australia' oh! and look, i already have like a PR Visa!! (in her best mary-kate and ashleigh voice!!!!).
So, me, i'm thinkin' smart arse!!!!
secondly - and here's the money shot, for which i am about to be ridiculed into oblivion! She only asked a question, simple as that, so what!!! We don't agree, and are speechless (well unfortunately not!) but hey, has anybody DIED?
what ever happened to tolerance of newbies and all that, bet she just can't wait to log back on and join in with the happy banter!!!! reality - she's probably thinking - mates, hey, some you win, some you immediately lose!!!
and as for staying put, to decide what to do re. moving to another country!!! logic! from experience, i've always thought throwing yourself in at the deep end, kind of taught you to swim quicker!!! if you get my drift....
wasn't it Lichtenburg who said, 'A person reveals his character by nothing so clearly as the joke he resents'.....
Oh, and Don, too many smilies???? he!he!
I await your supportive comments!!!

I would suggest you go on holiday, as Canada and Australia are do diverse it is like choosing lots of different countries to live in, i.e. Melbourne is the complete opposite of Darwin and one side of Canada is completely different to the other. Then the climates are different also. Weigh up what you are looking for mild temp hot temp then look at those particular areas. The reason I chose Australia and not Canada is because I prefer the relaxed way of life in Australia. Where as Canada was more like here. That was my opinion anyway. Hope that has helped you a little.

Oh, and swell!!! if you asked me that question 2 years ago, i would've said Canada, now i would have to say Oz...
but you have to work that one out for yourself... hope you come back!
cheers honeybob.

Have no knowledge of Canada except that it appears cold, has big bears and is in the unfortunate position of being stuck to the USA
I am going to Aus because I can. I don't want to go to Canada. I am trying to make a more relaxed life for me and mine. I want to get away from the "mines bigger than yours" mentality that is prevalent in the UK and I should imagine 10 times worse in USA and Canada.
Only you can decide. Good luck. And whilst I agree that it is greedy to have two PRs, make the most of it. Hope you keep posting.

I've never been there
Anyway even if I did make a trip there for say 2 weeks, it wouldn't help me to decide. You see only one side of the life living in another country so little while. I've been reading a lot about them though. Each one has its advantages and disadvantages and it's painfully difficult to decide just reading the papers. One more thing, I am not a greedy bastard with two visas in my pocket. I paid for them a lot and I am not talking about money. Initially I applied for Canadian visa and waited 5 years for any sign of progress in my case. Oh boy was that difficult. One day I realized that life is too short and applied for Australian visa and get it in one year. Then Canadian one came along
