Default Australia: Terrorist target?

Newsflsh just now on BBC radio 5.

A United airlines plane rom LA to Sydney has turned back after an attempt to break into the cockpit.

Speculation is that this was an attack on Australian interests possibly connected to past intervention in East Timor.

Incident still in progress as Plane has not yet disembarked.

I will try and find a link.

The news out here have not confirmed it is a terrorist attack. They have made 2 other suggestions such as passengers acusing problems etc. It was a 747 going from Melb -SYd- LA - NYork.

I will let you know more when I hear it!

It's on the Herald Sun 'breaking news' section too.

Did you read the headlines in Sunday's Aus papers about the terrorist threats to "turn Australia into pools of blood if they do not withdraw from Iraq"and the terrorist cells they've found in Melbourne?

It's all very worrying stuff.

Sunday's story:

Find the website page, highlight the whole address, right click to copy, open a message in Expats, right click to paste (or use same commands under 'edit' at top of page).

UPDATE news is saying no-one entered the cockpit, it looks like an idiot wrote a stupid message on a sick bag and the pilot had to carry out security methods and take it seriously.

NO BOMB, NO FIRE they are saying. All passengers are now off and safe.

Some people are such arses!

According ot Sky News Australia, they are now saying that a suspicious "note" was left in one of the toilets hinting at some kind of terrorist attack on the plane... i find it hard how you could merely "hint" at it!!! :scared:

They should finger print all the passengers and find out who it was, or the passengers of the previous flight if need be.

And you're so right - people really are arses!
