Glad you agree!

It might not be in a few years' time, but while it is we're going to have a bloody good time.

I can't understand the naysayers? What were they expecting - El Dorado without the effort? Perhaps if they'd done some research before coming over they might have been better informed.

We chose Melbourne of all the places in the world to live (it narrowly beat Vancouver in our scouring the globe for what would offer what we wanted at this moment in our lives) and it's exceeded the expectations of our memories of it from previous trips to Oz. It's a very easy place to have a very good life.

Some friends from the UK left yesterday. One of the last things we did was have a bbq at one of the public sites by the Yarra. Our guests said they'd be adding it to the list of things they would be writing to their local council about in Surrey, before changing their minds.

"It'll only be vandalised," they said.

The sad thing is, they're probably right. I don't know why they don't get trashed here, but they don't and, while we didn't leave the UK because we didn;t like it and may well return there in the future, it is little things like that which sum up, I think, why many people decide (sometimes wrongly) to travel 10,000 miles.

mmm well you can research until your blue in the face but you have to live here to know.

We can only live for the moment, I love the UK I never slag it off it is where I am from. The way we look at it is, we've come this far why stop now, many many countries I want to see before I pop me clogs who knows where we will end up
