Was she a wide-eyed wonder in that too? I love Jenny Agutter's "acting". She's such a bewildered woman in her films!

I completely forgot about Gallipoli. Fantastic film.

I'm with everyone on Once Were Warriors as well. For some reason though the sequel is hardly known in the UK. Think it may even be a straight to video.

I just thought of another Aussie movie that was a favourite of mine as a kid....Storm Boy...

Some of my favourites;

*Russian Doll ( Nicole Kidman)

*The Sum of Us ( Russel Crowe and Jack Thompson)

*Road to Nhill ( see that before you go and live in a country town or if you like lawn bowls)

*Lantana (guaranteed to stop you having an extramarital affair)

*Japanese Story (with Toni Collette)

*Proof(Hugo Weaving plays a blind photographer)

*Babe( put me off bacon for a few days) but was it true blue Aussie or American?

*Shine( loved the music)

I don't think you can appreciate Muriel's Wedding or The Castle until you have lived in Oz a while to appreciate the "daggyness" of the characters.
