If not perhaps you could leave half in UK account and transfer when rate is better ?
Simple answer ..no..it's just sitting there earning nice lot of interest at the mo, just as it will if we take a price on a forward contract as we only have to put 10% down. Yes it 'may' rise in time but will it rise before September - they are prediciting a drop to 2.2 ish when Aussie interest rates do rise and we would be gutted if we hadn't taken 2.4 then.

It's a hard one! Agreed a forward contract on 2.41 today for part of the 'dosh' and will take a risk with the rest and spread the bet!

I guess we have obtained that now as I see it went above 2.42 interbank rate tonight???

Hi guys,

Can I assume the Aussie interest rates have not gone up? Halewood told me yesterday they would probably go up overnight and then the rate against the $ would probably drop (ie we should have bought $ yesterday). Anyway we didn't - we didn't have the right gut feeling about it!

We are not being greedy - just don't want to be stupid either!

Arrgh!

Don't rub it in!

Should have stuck to the gut feeling instead of being sensible!
