Beer is vile, give me Vodka over Beer any day.

Lets get back to the beer survey:D :D

My Fave (at the moment) has to be "tooheys pils" 5.2% same strength as good old Stella (Bless her!!!!!) not quite the same kick though but not a bad brew :D :D

No others going for the old pils ?

Nothing beats a Carlton Cold.

Been a few years since I was there, so hoping it's still around.

Badge Jul 27th 2004 8:29 pm

agreed.

Carlton Cold. Nice.

Extra Dry better.

Hahn Premium, preferably six bottles, in obligatory stubbie holder, drunk whilst playing 18 holes on a gorgeous sunny afternoon in the Perth hills. Then back at the clubhouse, Hahn Premium, maybe three or four, drunk whilst overlooking the sunset on the 18th fairway. Ahhh.... bliss.

Failing that, Crownies, although they are bloody expensive.

Never seen the attraction of "wife beater" (aka Stella) - tastes pretty crock and gives me a thumping headache the day after
(plus a "dodgy" stomach, if you know what I mean).

'Best' Aussie Beer.

Surely this is an oxymoron?:(

Cheer up Mr G you can get a few ales here:D . There's a rumour spreading that Boddingtons is available on draught at a pub in Caloundra:beer:. I can get Guinness in most pubs but it's expensive plus I'm trying to get used to the lager type beers entering into the spirit of all things Australian and all that

Re: Aussie Beer ?

Have to say the two that topped my list were Carlton Cold and Carlton Midstrength.

Being in Brisbane there was lots of XXXX on offer which was OK and the VB was drinkable too but not top of the list.

What is your favourite Aussie Beer ? and why ?

For the record mine has got to be a good old, ice cold VB.

Why? Because Victoria Bitter has a unique strong taste that hits the spot on hot day :D

I'll be interested in hearing what you other pommie blokes like to drink down under when your partying

O'yeah and we should NOT forget the ladies

Sheila's, what's your current favourite sherry at the moment ? :p

Obviously Jack is my fave but when it comes to Beer Melbourne bitter is nicer than VB, anf then being a soon to be WA resident I've gotta say EB.
