Attention Bricklayers
#1
Some general informaton please? How long would it take someone to build:
- In Melbourne
- A brick wall using standard 390x190 blocks (ie Boral)
Area = 460 square metres (153 metres length x 3 metre height)
- What labour team would be required ie Bricklayer and 2 labourers or 2 Bricklayers and 1 labourer?
- What equipment would they need if say they were a new arrival from the UK?
- What certification process do they need to undertake to become self employed? Can they still sub under say an owner builder?
- Lastly what is a good rate for a Bricklayer (ie one they would be happy with given current economic situation).
- Is it true Brickies get laid more often?

Wow it's going to need some serious reinforcement, rebar into the footings & horizontal bars wired to the vertical etc? Did you have to have engineered drawings done?

Yes but the designer is still in fiji on holiday and needs to transmit the plans through before the engineer can commence.

preferably on a 3 metres high x 153 long wall
