Default Ashburton/Ashwood in Melbourne

Anyone living in or know much about these areas. I'm relocating to Melbourne at the beginning of next month and will have 5 weeks to find a place to rent before the OH and kidlets turn up. I have lived in Melbourne before, but don't know much about this area.

Would appreciate any insights into the area, schools, etc.

Thanks!

Hi, I don't know of Ashwood, however Ashburton I do, it is quite a well-to-do suburb with a very nice high street. It borders Glen Iris and as such I could imagine that it would be pretty expensive, but I've never researched this.

It's on the railway line so great for public transport. I reckon I'd live there on the general "feel" of the place.

Thanks Buzzy - it seems pretty nice from what I've seen. I know we went out that way once when we were living in Melbourne last time, but I can't really remember it. I'm trying to strike a balance between transport options, good schools, and rental costs.
