Smile An arty type in Sydney

Hello all
I'm going to be moving to Oz for 4 months whilst my husband directs a play in Sydney and then Melbourne. This is very exciting but will leave me with lots of time on my hands to fill! My plan is to do some courses to keep me active and to meet some people (a little scared about being a little lonely as my husband will be working pretty flat out). I'm a keen artist and would love to find somewhere to do some short courses in drawing /painting and photography. Does anyone have any recommendations or any other ideas on what there is in Sydney for someone like me to enjoy!!
Thanks in advance!

You might find some good courses at Sydney Community College:

Also there are various evening life drawing classes that might be fun. The Art Gallery of Nsw always has lots of events. 'Artier' areas of Sydney are Paddington, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills and Newtown.
