Default Arriving

Hello
When we arrive in Brisbane in August (hopefully) we would like to have pre arranged accomodation (rented house), car etc. Can anyone give me any tips on how to do this.
We don't want to be tied to 6 months rental contract on a house initially as we want to look around the areas and suburds before making long term commitments.
I'm sure car rental is not a problem but when renting a house we would need references etc and also most rental properties require a months rent deposit & a month up-front, basically if anyone knows of a specialist agent I would like details etc.

Thanks

Dave

Prior to your departure book yourself into a fully furnished place for a few weeks, whilst you look around for longterm accommodation.
Someone on this site has accommodation in that area or perhaps put a post up, 'looking for accommodation'

all the very best

Flying Banana is an unknown quantity at this point

Can't help with specifics for Brissie being darn sarf in Melbourne but I had a similar dilemma when I got here, ie not wanting to rent a long term place from abroad and not willing to pay extortionate hotel prices.

In the end I searched for places doing corporate lets and serviced furnished appartments. Found somewhere nice which I was able to rent on a week by week basis.

Try googling 'Corporate let' and 'Brisbane' hopefully might turn up something decent

Look on www.Seqrents.com.au they have lots of furnished appts on short term.

We used them to find our place for 4 weeks at $550 per week but its fully furnished 2 bedroom very very modern and nice shared pool etc. There are others on there but we ran out of availability and time - we only booked 1 week before we came.

Get yourself something in central brisbane then you can tour around the whole area is 30 minutes driving from central will get you a massive area around brisbane to scout for houses.
