Application, help needed please.

Hi

I have been collecting information for Andrew's TRA Assessment because I thought we both needed to be assessed. I'm going to be the main applicant with Andrew as my defacto spouse. I have all my things ready for my NOOSR assessment but was told by an agent today that only I need a positive assessment as the main applicant. Does anyone know whether this is true? Any help would be apreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you have enough points with just your skills tested then go with that.

Hello Teach,
We applied with me as the main applicant with no skills assessment for my Husband and that was no problem. I think you only need it if your claiming points for him too, if you dont need to it should be fine. (The reason we didnt send hubbys was because tra took an age in the first place and then requested more and more info, we got fed up of waiting!)

mcmercer,

Yeah TRA takes a long time but City and Guilds probably take longer, lol. Waited over a month for a copy of his certs. Trying get references as he is a sub contractor has been even harder.

Thanks for advice,
Sarah

We only had a skills assesment for my Husband who was the main applicant. We got the visa :)

I think as said previously, you only need a partner skills assesment if you are claiming the extra points.

He is a carpenter and joiner. He works wherever and whenever he wants particularly since he met me. He now has all school holidays off. If he doesn't like a job he "jackiej's" as he calls it. We tried to get references from agencies but they said they couldn't as they don't actually see his work.
I really cannot believe that we have wasted sorry should I say I have wasted 2 months trying to get his TRA sorted because I read a question wrong.

What visa are you going for, skilled independant.
His skills would have got you State Nominated
Take it you havent submitted TRA application yet.
How long has it taken you to obtain evidence so far

Confused also about skills assessments!

Hi, this is my first attempt to use site - just signed up. So brilliant to finally find others who are trying to escape to Oz. I am at the moment getting stuff together for NOOSR (teacher for my sins). My husband is 45 so I am thought I would be main applicant, but been told (not by an agent - trying not to use one), that because we are going to be sponsored by his brother and sister in law, he has to fill form in. Very confused!

Not sure whether I'm even doing this flaming message right. Please answer with any reply if I have.

By the way if you are getting any of this, we are trying to go to Perth.

Forget waiting for City and Guilds to get back to you, apply under yourself as the main applicant as long as you have enough points and don't bother to waste your money on getting his skills assessed by the TRA.

Williem,

City and Guilds finally sent certs after 2months of waiting and charged us £60 for them. References have also been a hold up, all my mistake as I thought we both needed positiove assessments to lodge our application. I'm a silly girl, ah well.

Thanks Sarah, its so nice to see a new voice, if you know what I mean. Sorry but I don't know what a PM is, sounds pain full though.
