Default For anyone who has flown A380

I know there's tonnes of stuff on the A380 but i've searched for weeks and can't find my answer!! I'm wondering if anyone has booked seats 48 DEFG coz on seatguru it appears there's extra legroom in front of seat 48D.

I only booked our flights & selected our seats last week and this isle was available! I thought it would've been one of the first to go. My OH is 6ft 5 so if there really is extra legroom it would be a bonus!

Does anyone know?? Would be grateful! Knowing my luck there's probably a wall two inches in front of the seat!!

Apparently there is a missing seat as there is a hatch in the floor in front of 48D. Ideal for somone who is 6'5".

I think this is the pic you need to see!

Those seats are identical to the seats on the SIA Boeing 777-300ER that I flew back from California on.

Very comfortable they are too - with the best multimedia setup I have experienced in economy.

I didnt actually try it but i am sure when we flew on the A380 each seat had its own universal socket which takes Uk 3 pin plugs(which is also the plug used in Singapore). But i believe the outlet only give enough power to run your laptop not actually charge it as well..........unless someone knows different!

Rumour would have it that Aus plugs (2 prong only) also fit, its kinda universal.

They're not running Vista are they?

I'm not flying on anything running Vista. Mind you, at 35,000 feet there is plenty of airspace to cope with having to re-boot the aircraft.

Hi

Don't take the seat plan on Seatguru as gospel - according to them my seat didn't exist! Double check on Singapore Airlines site.

Think I was in row 45 and had the loo behind me, so it was a bit noisy at times but it was the only window seat left. It is also right over the wing - and that is all you can see just miles of wing!

Power sockets - Al it is like the picture, will that take a UK plug because it didn't look like it to us.

This is what I have managed to find so far
The in-seat power supply supports U.S. and Australian-style power plugs (2 flat pins) but not the U.K.-style power plug (3 thick pins). If you don't use an adaptor, you can't use Singapore power plugs on board Singapore Airlines. How odd.
You don't need a US adaptor, it takes Australian plugs. Only type that needs an adaptor is a British style plug (amusingly the kind used in Singapore). Singapore Airlines policy is to remove the battery when connected to the power, and if your laptop is 90W you will most likely find its needed to do that or else the circuit will trip. On planes 75W laptops are much more reliable.
I can confirm that the Australian plug works with the in seat power on the A380. Just a word of warning: keep the battery in. During one part of the flight, the power cut off to my power adapter and I took out the battery.
So it looks like we'll be fine.

Al

The upper deck was the best i thought, much more spacious! plus if you get the window seats ther's only 2 seats so much more room, and you get an extra storage locker to the side of you (under the window)

OK, I can see in the pic that the Chair in front is gone (so a lot of extra leg room) but does that also mean that the tiny TV so far away is yours (as apposed to normaly being right in front of you on the seat), or do you get one pop out of the arm like the exit row seats?

Yeah, i mentioned that to OH and he's not bothered! Would rather get the binoculars out and have a bit more legroom!! I'm just worried coz it was one of the last few seats left for me to book on the plane. There must be a catch
