Netspace are cool. We get 10gb offpeak, 10gb peak traffic with free uploads for 99.95 a month. Tech support sucks though.
You can monitor your downloads via a usage meter usually accessible via the ISP homepage. Some ISPs let you download an application to track it direct from your PC save logging in on the website everytime you get worried about the amount you are downloading. SOme ISPs offer unlimited now, depends how much you think you will download. Can get unlimited for 99.95, think we will be changing ISPs when we get back from the UK. BTW my speed is 512/128. |
Telstra have checked and confirmed the line is capable and updated swiftel that the line will be active on Tuesday. Strange thing is that the stingray (nick name for the Alcatel USB modem)modem is showing the line as active. All I need is a username and password.
Then I can go tell tpg to stuff their awful service, slow speed connections and line drops right up their :D |
I am connected. You lil bute. I e-mailed sales today telling them the line was syncing and within an hour my account was active. Now TPG can shove it where the sun does not shine.

Swiftel seemed to be very highly regarded by their customers (as per the discussion forum at whirlpool.net) and they're competitive re pricing. Swiftel's an ASX listed company and they've stated they plan to roll out an adelaide service shortly. also an interesting equity investment proposition - rapidly emerged as a top ten ADSL service provider in what is a very high growth market - interesting revenue growth story. As for those users complaining about dial-up internet services in Australia - do yourself a favour - get ADSL and not from telstra.

Now I have to find myself the right router or build a linux number as this stingray thing is frustrating. |
They have just retrospectively given everyone on my plan an extra gb download and reduced excess gig to $5.
|
And another 2 gig free. I had better get downloading stuff.
