Default Anyone used Pickfords?

Hi,

Another question....
Has anyone used Pickfords to move their worldly goods?
They have offices in Oz I am told and in Tassie in particular.

We are going to rent out our house for 6 -12 months before we decide wether to make the change permanant so we got a quote for the move and packing and storage. Both seem really reasonable and the bloke that visited seemed switched on and knowledgable but no-one else has mentioned using them...

Paranoia, paranoia!

I used Pickfords, they sucked. I put my stuff in to storage with them, they need to then repack it ('export pack') before it travels overseas. They repacked it in no particular order, so when it arrived it was just random items from all over the home - it made unpacking a nightmare. Items broke in transit, items vandalized.

I posted my experience here before, as have others, search the forums. Some people had good results, others didn't. I would never use them again.

We had them out for a quote and 3 weeks later still had no quote! They then phoned me and said they hadn't sent out a quote as they had lost my name and address

Told them not to bother as if they were that incompetent with my name they weren't getting their hands on my belongings

We used them, great UK side ,not so clever this side. But in hindsight a couple of years on ,it was probably their Aussie, no worries, laid back attitude that had me in a lather.I would prpbably not blink now but at the time i was gagging for my belongings.

We used them about 18 months ago and they were very good, especially on departure. They are used by everyone sponsored by the company I work for and nobody I have spoken to has had any major problems.

Hi,

We used them 4 months ago - no problems. It's been said before but any company can send a poor packing team. Ours were fine.

The only other comment I would make is we paid for them to unpack but since we were in a rental (and the guys this end were quite heavy-handed), I unpacked myself, only those items that we needed straight away.

Luckily we've got a large rental because it's still full of boxes !!

We used them and had no problems at all with them. Packers Uk side were great, this end no problems either. If anything a bit OTT with the wrapping took bloody ages to un pack our stuff, not one item damaged or broken.
