We've looked at hail sales for my cousin. Didn't think the savings were that great for a battered car!

Not to mention there is some confusion over whether an insurance company will insure it also

Yes, the prices I have seen for some of these cars is not worth driving around in a car full of dents.

you cant get fully comp as far as I have been led to believe, as they have been noted as repairable writeoffs.

Here in Vic after the hail storms there were thousands upon thousands being offered "cheap"

Most didnt get sold because they were too dear, and ended up at places like www.pickles.com.au

Could you let me know how much you want for it? It will probably be out of our budget for now as we are looking for a 2nd car as a runaround till my oh gets a job.

all depends on how much dough you have got and who you are, lets face it you wouldnt want to pull up outside the drop in one,but if your driving on the beach, bush, building sites etc...then who gives a flying one about a car that looks like it just drove through an iraqi checkpoint without stopping

Thing is, people have been paying too much for these damaged cars. If you are getting a rock bottom bargain then I say go for it.

$5500....$45k upwards new..it will certainly do for fishing anyway, even if it looks like i go fishing in iraq....
