Would really like to hear from anyone who is working in the security industry in and around Perth?

I'm looking to start work soon after completion of my cert II course and wondered if anyone has any recommendations of companies to work for?

It seems pretty easy to pick up security work through speaking to employers and the training centre.

I'm also looking for average rates of pay.

What kind of security? Security guard? Door/bouncer type? Electronic?

ISS- Airport electronic searches and office static

Serco-Court security/prison transport and Acacia prison

Wilson-Static and Perth transit Auth

Casual rate about AUD 25 per hour

Thank you for your reply. I was a police officer back home but cannot apply at the moment due to needing to be a permanent resident. Hence looking at security.

Think you'll probably need to be PR to get a security license here, too.

I've checked that out, you can get a security licence on a temporary visa, thats no problem.

You just need to have your police clearance cert with you.

I looked into it old pal, in Brisbane Qld, $20 to $25 an hour, not great but better than a kick up the Salmon Tushdy's.............
